Smooth Away Facial Lines and Wrinkles with Radiesse and Restylane:
Introducing long lasting non-surgical solutions

Dr. Clevens, Brevard's board certified and fellowship-trained facial plastic surgeon, is the first in Brevard to offer Restylane and Radiesse, the most exciting non-surgical advancements in facial rejuvenation today.

After years of safe and successful use in Canada and Europe, Restylane is a cosmetic filler that has finally gained FDA approval for use in the United States . Restylane is intended for wrinkle correction and lip enhancements. It is ideal for correcting thin superficial lines, for example around the mouth, forehead and smile lines. While there are many injectable fillers on the market today, many of them have drawbacks ranging from allergic reactions to short life spans.

Since Restylane is a crystal-clear, non-animal, biodegradable gel based on natural substances, there is no need for a skin test to test for allergic reactions as there is with collagen. The gel is carefully injected in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The result is instantaneous and produces a long-lasting, natural enhancement, gentle and safe to your skin. Restylane lasts 6-12 months as compared with collagen that lasts about 3-4 months.

Radiesse is a cosmetic filler used in lip augmentation and facial contouring as well. Radiesse provides lasting correction for 18 months to 3 years. While Restylane works best for fine lines and to enhance the lip line, Radiesse smooths deeper facial folds and creases such as the nasolabial folds that extend from the nose to the mouth area.

Radiesse , currently FDA approved for vocal cord injection and as a tissue marker, awaits approval for cosmetic uses although thousands of vials have already been injected in the United States for cosmetic enhancement. Like Restylane, Radiesse does not require a skin test because it is from the same mineral component as bone and teeth. Radiesse consists of calcium hydroxyapatite microspheres in a gel carrier.

Both Radiesse and Restylane treatments are performed in the office and take less than a half hour. There is no down time, and you will see the effects immediately. Most patients resume their ordinary activities immediately after treatment with Radiesse and Restylane.

Botox is another terrific lunchtime non-surgical solution for lines and wrinkles. Botox is proven, simple and effective. So far, more than a million people have been treated since FDA approval in 2002. Ten minutes - a few tiny injections - and within days there is visible improvement as furrows between the brows, horizontal forehead lines and crows feet fade away. While Radiesse and Restylane smooth away lines and folds in the lower part of the face, Botox diminishes furrows and wrinkles in the upper part of the face and eyes.

It just makes sense to meet with Dr. Clevens, Brevard's facial plastic surgery specialist, to help you determine which treatment is right for you. Some patients may even be candidates for several options, perhaps combining Botox to rejuvenate the brow and crow's feet and Radiesse to smooth away smoker's lines, nasolabial folds and to create fuller lips. Trust your face to the specialist to offer the latest in surgical and non-surgical options to create a younger looking you.
