Wrinkles around the eyes, lips, and cheeks develop with age due to deterioration in the collagen and elastic fibers that connect the cells of our skin. These changes are accelerated by cigarette smoking, stress, and cumulative lifetime sun exposure.

The Center for Facial Cosmetic Surgery has performed laser resurfacing on thousands of patients who are candidates for laser resurfacing at an earlier age who have not yet become candidates for formal surgical face lifting.

Many men and women seek facial plastic surgery to reverse the effects of sun damaged skin. Dr. Clevens uses specialized types of lasers (Erbium and C02) to "erase" lines and wrinkles.

A laser is an amplified beam of light that vaporizes blemishes, imperfections, and lines and wrinkles that were once thought to be permanent. Laser resurfacing may also improve the appearance of acne scars and remove precancerous skin growths. Lasers create a tightening affect that helps to improve the appearance of loose facial and neck skin.

Occasionally, surgery and a laser treatment are used in combination during the same sitting to simultaneously treat both loose skin and fine wrinkles.
