Phillip Barbee MD-1276 - LOW RESFellow, Facial Plastic Surgery 

Dr. Phillip Barbee is completing a yearlong fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery under the mentorship of Ross A. Clevens, MD, FACS and Renata Khelemsky, MD. With nearly 10 years of surgical training and experience, Dr. Barbee completed his maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Florida, College of Medicine in Jacksonville. During his residency, Dr. Barbee gained extensive experience with head and neck cancer resection and reconstruction, post-traumatic facial reconstruction, and facial cosmetic surgery.

Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Barbee earned his medical degree at the University of Florida in Gainesville. He also holds a BA in Psychology with a minor in Music Theory and History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Master of Science degree with a focus in Biomedical Science from Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla. Dr. Barbee earned his DDS degree at the University of Maryland in Baltimore.

Prior to joining the Clevens Face and Body Specialists team, Dr. Barbee’s training courses included advanced Botox and fillers courses and experience, as well as a maxillofacial reconstruction course, nerve repair simulation lab, and anatomy cadaver dissection. His research endeavors include a study on the functional outcomes of cleft lip surgery.

Dedicated to serving others through his community service efforts, Dr. Barbee has traveled to Haiti, Vietnam, Greece, and the Dominican Republic on medical mission trips. Closer to home, Dr. Barbee has volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Moveable Feast. Active in Boy Scouts of America for years, Dr. Barbee earned his Eagle Scout Award in 2000.

As a facial plastic surgery fellow, Dr. Barbee specializes in cosmetic and reconstructive facial plastic surgery procedures and supports patients as part of their post-operative care team. In addition, Dr. Barbee has a strong interest in skin cancer care, from diagnosis to treatment and reconstructive facial plastic surgery to restore his patients’ appearance following MOHS surgery.

Dr. Barbee’s personal interests include traveling, music, and surfing.
