Frequently Asked Questions About Facial Plastic Surgery

Are there non-surgical options for rhinoplasty?

Surgery is the only permanent method of rhinoplasty to reshape and change the appearance of the nose. However, the ‘Liquid Rhinoplasty’ developed by Dr. Clevens uses injectable fillers to provide temporary improvement for patients not quite ready for the commitment required of surgery.

Am I the right candidate for blepharoplasty surgery?

Good candidates for eyelid surgery have excess skin around their eyes or a loss of vision due to the significant sagging in the eyelid area. Blepharoplasty performed by Dr. Clevens is long lasting, with many of his patients enjoying the benefits of eyelid surgery for 20 years or more.

How can I avoid the unnatural look that can result from a facelift?

Prospective facelift patients may fear that their results will appear unnaturally tight or pulled. Dr. Clevens has specialized in natural-looking deep plane facelifts for years, lifting and tightening the facial tissues necessary for you to enjoy beautiful and long-lasting results.

How long will my plastic surgery recovery be?

The amount of time required for your facial plastic surgery results to appear depends on the procedure and your body’s natural healing speed. Most patients are back to their ordinary activities in one to two weeks. During your consultation, you can ask Dr. Clevens about your specific procedure to learn more about recovery time.

Generally:

  • It takes two weeks to return to work or play after a facelift.
  • Blepharoplasty patients return to their day to day activities commonly in less than one week; final results may also take a few months to appear.
  • Rhinoplasty patients return to work or school in one week; results may take up to a year before showing final nasal contours.
  • Patients may notice the final results of their CoolSculpting® in one to three months.

Can CoolSculpting address skin laxity under the chin?

Although CoolSculpting® can eliminate fat in the neck and chin area, it cannot eliminate excess skin. Some patients may want to receive a facelift or a Signature Profile Neck Lift™ to remove excess skin and further enhance their facial silhouette.
