The number of Ellacor treatments required to achieve your desired result varies and will depend upon each patient’s unique goals. We find that most of our patients are pleased with a single treatment. However, we recommend starting with one treatment and then evaluating your result with your provider to determine if you would benefit from additional treatments to further enhance your outcome. Before your Ellacor treatment, numbing medicine will be carefully placed in the targeted treatment area. You may experience some mild discomfort, but there shouldn’t be any significant pain.

While microneedling and Ellacor have some similarities, they are not the same. While microneedling does utilize tiny needles, it does not involve the removal of any skin. Ellacor is the first and only cosmetic device capable of removing micro-cores of skin.

Currently, there is not enough data available to determine whether or not Ellacor is an effective treatment for darker skin tones. With certain aesthetic treatments, darker skin tones have been shown to react differently than lighter ones.

Before your Ellacor treatment, your physician will give you instructions to properly prepare for the procedure. For example, you’ll likely need to avoid direct sun exposure or tanning beds that may leave your skin swollen or peeling.
