What Exactly Is Bellafill?

Bellafill is a nonsurgical cosmetic procedure that rejuvenates the face. The treatment takes just minutes to perform in our office, and works to restore volume to the cheeks or smooth away lines and wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds, commonly known as “smile lines.”

Bellafill creates results that you’ll notice immediately and that are impressively long-lasting, with no need for any kind of surgery or the downtime and recovery period that has a tendency to follow a more invasive procedure. Additionally, Bellafill is the only available dermal filler deemed effective and safe for the treatment of acne scars.

Restoring Lost Volume and Your Youthful Glow Along With It

These days, many patients are seeking to restore their youthful appearance by reducing smile lines around the mouth. Over the years, we commonly lose volume in our faces, which increases the appearance of wrinkles and folds and creates sunken, sagging cheeks. While some treatments offer a temporary solution, most patients prefer more long-lasting results. If you share this common cosmetic goal, our Bellafill treatment might be perfect for you.

Looking Forward to Long-Lasting Results

Bellafill may be right for you if you are a patient who has enjoyed your cosmetic outcome from dermal filler treatments in the past, but you want a longer-lasting result. Dermal fillers such as Juvéderm, Restylane, Radiesse, and Sculptra can achieve beautiful results for patients seeking facial rejuvenation, but the results are temporary.

Typically, these popular fillers last from six to 18 months, depending on the product your provider uses and how quickly your body metabolizes it. Bellafill, on the other hand, is proven to last up to five years.

How Does Bellafill Create Results?

Bellafill is a collagen-based filler that contains PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) microspheres. This revolutionary dermal filler instantly restores volume, smoothing lines and wrinkles to reverse the signs of aging. After the treatment is performed, the microspheres create a foundational “scaffold” for your skin, allowing it to regenerate its own natural collagen over time.

By helping to regenerate your skin’s own collagen structure, Bellafill creates a firmer, more youthful facial appearance. The product also includes a local anesthetic known as lidocaine and microsphere-enhanced, natural collagen gel. Eventually, the collagen will be absorbed by your body, while the microspheres create a structure that supports the production of your body’s own collagen, resulting in lasting correction for at least five years. Prior to use of the product, you’ll undergo a simple allergy skin test to ensure your comfort and safety.

More About Your Exciting Bellafill Procedure

Bellafill is a nonsurgical procedure that can be performed in the office. The treatment takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete and has no downtime. Your Bellafill procedure will be performed much in the same way as other dermal filler treatments. After a comprehensive full-face assessment and discussion with you about your cosmetic goals, our skilled master injectors will place Bellafill in areas to reverse the signs of aging based on your custom treatment plan.

Ensuring Your Safety and Satisfaction

Prior to your Bellafill treatment, you will be asked to participate in a skin test to ensure the product is safe for you and that you do not experience any hypersensitivity to it.

Importantly, because Bellafill results are semi-permanent, you’ll be glad to have sought out an experienced and skilled master injector who is also a facial plastic surgery specialist to perform your treatment, as this will create the best possible results.

Who is a good candidate for Bellafill treatment?

The best candidates for Bellafill are those who have enjoyed prior dermal filler treatments and are interested in a more lasting result. Additionally, for the correction of facial acne scars, patients should be at least 21 years of age at the time of the procedure.

How long does Bellafill last?

Bellafill’s results are immediate and proven to last at least five years. Unlike other types of dermal fillers that require treatments to be repeated again every six to 18 months, Bellafill is a semi-permanent filler. For this reason, patients should be careful to choose a provider who is a skilled and experienced master injector with extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, such as our facial plastic surgery specialists at Clevens Face and Body Specialists in Melbourne and Merritt Island, Florida.

What is the dosage for Bellafill?

The dosage of Bellafill used during your procedure will vary according to your personalized treatment plan. At Clevens Face and Body Specialists, you and your provider will work together to develop a treatment plan that is customized around your individual cosmetic goals. The dosage requirements for acne scars may vary. Your doctor will decide what dosage amount is appropriate in light of your unique condition.

We offer complimentary consultations with our specialists so you can learn more about Bellafill and get a customized treatment plan created just for you.

Are Bellafill treatments uncomfortable?

Bellafill contains an anesthetic called lidocaine to optimize your comfort throughout the procedure. For your added comfort, our providers may use numbing medicine in the area that will be treated with a local anesthetic agent.

Providers often administer Bellafill treatment using a cannula device to prevent bruising and to minimize or reduce any discomfort. At Clevens Face and Body Specialists, we also offer Clevens Comfort+ to ease anxiety and help patients relax during their Bellafill treatments.

Who should avoid the use of Bellafill?

Bellafill should be avoided by individuals who have:

  • A positive reaction to the allergy skin test
  • An allergy to lidocaine, the anesthetic found in Bellafill
  • A history of anaphylaxis, hypersensitivity, or severe allergies
  • Allergies to any bovine collagen products
  • A tendency towards hypertrophic scars (thick scar formation)
  • A tendency towards keloid scars (excessive scar formations)
  • Planned or current desensitization to products containing meat
Bellafill should also not be used for the augmentation of the lips.

How much does Bellafill cost?

The price of Bellafill dermal filler treatment varies based on the provider's training and experience, as well as the amount of Bellafill used during the procedure. Typically, Bellafill treatment ranges from $1,250 to $4,950.
