What Can Sculptra Do for Me?

Sculptra is an injectable filler designed to restore volume and correct the lines, wrinkles, and sagging skin that can be caused by facial fat loss, with a formula made of poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), a synthetic material that is biocompatible and biodegradable.  Sculptra is frequently referred to as a “liquid facelift,” thanks to its ability to create such remarkable facial rejuvenation results without any kind of surgery or extensive recovery period. Am I an Ideal Candidate for Sculptra?

Good candidates for Sculptra treatments include individuals who are physically healthy, realistic in their expectations, and looking to improve the appearance of facial fat loss. Sculptra is not appropriate for those who are allergic to any of the ingredients in Sculptra or have an active skin infection or inflammation in the treatment area. We’ll be sure to perform an allergy test before beginning your treatment, to ensure your total safety.

We’ll also work with you during your consultation to explore our various nonsurgical treatment options, and a member of our team will let you know if a different treatment might be best for you. We offer a number of methods by which you can realize your cosmetic goals, and will be happy to talk through the various choices you have available to you.

Your Consultation

The consultation offers an exciting start to your cosmetic journey with us, as it gives us the opportunity to get to know everything we can about you, your personal cosmetic goals, and your lifestyle. This helps us to create results that are directly tailored to you and your needs. Such a high level of personalization can only come from a well-trained and extensively experienced team, and we’re proud to offer such excellence here at Clevens Face and Body Specialists.

Once we’ve figured out what we can do to help you look and feel your very best, we’ll go over the details of your treatment plan. We’ll discuss exactly what you can expect from the treatment itself, the possibilities and limitations of your results, and what you can expect during your recovery period. Finally, we’ll explore your financing options before setting up the necessary appointments and getting you started on the road to rejuvenation!

The Difference Between Voluma and Sculptra

Your Sculptra Treatment

Sculptra treatments are typically administered in our Merritt Island or Melbourne, FL offices and can take anywhere from 15 to 40 minutes to complete, depending on the number and size of the treatment areas.

A local or topical anesthetic may first be administered before small amounts of Sculptra are injected into the skin using a very fine needle. The specific treatment pattern used for your procedure will be discussed with you prior to your session.

Enjoying Your Results

Some swelling, redness, or bruising may occur after your treatment, but these symptoms typically fade within a few hours to a few days.

Applying ice packs during the first twenty-four hours can help to reduce swelling. The treated area will need to be massaged several times a day for several days, and additional treatments may be required after several weeks.

Most patients are able to immediately return to work and other activities, though excessive sun exposure should be avoided until any swelling and redness have cleared. Sculptra can provide results lasting up to two years, and our team will work with you to best understand how to maintain those results. We’ll give you detailed aftercare instructions, and will also help you to schedule a series of maintenance appointments if you feel so inclined so that you can enjoy your results for as long as possible.
