Why a Neck Lift?

The lower facelift.

A pioneer in the field, Ross A. Clevens, MD, FACS, has created the Laser-Assisted Weekend Neck Lift to remove fatty areas of the neck and chin. This treatment allows you to improve the contour of your neck and chin with minimal incisions and a fast recovery. Major national health and beauty publications, including Allure magazine, have lauded Dr. Clevens for this minimally invasive technique.

All neck lifts are performed by Dr. Clevens and Renata Khelemsky, MD. Watch Dr. Clevens explain how the neck and skin age and how the right procedure can tighten up your neckline.

Neck Lift Benefits

Eliminate common neck issues, such as double chin and turkey neck.

Unlike traditional facelifts, a Weekend Neck Lift allows you to return to your day-to-day activities after just a long weekend. The treatment improves your neck and jawline, including “turkey neck,” as well as your chin and neck, including a “double chin.” Our team also tightens the neck muscles and reduces neck bands so you’re left with a more youthful jawline.

Neck Lift Procedure

Innovative, advanced techniques for your comfort.

With a Weekend Neck Lift, Dr. Clevens and Dr. Khelemsky use Cervicofacial Liposculpture to contour fat in the chin and neck areas before tightening neck muscles and reducing neck bands, while using laser technology to restore a youthful contour. For some patients, our facial plastic surgeons may recommend Dr. Clevens’ signature Direct Profile Neck Lift to remove excess skin. Other patients opt to combine the Weekend Neck Lift at the same time as their eyelid surgery, facelift, brow lift, and cosmetic laser skin resurfacing to enhance their results and achieve additional benefits on other areas of the face. Neck Lift Recovery

Natural appearance, minimal downtime.

As a patient at Clevens Face and Body Specialists, you have complimentary access to after-surgery care with our team of aestheticians. Although you can return to work and other day-to-day activities in only a few days, we recommend you give yourself a week before fully returning to more strenuous activities like exercise.

The only evidence that you’ve had the Weekend Neck Lift is a half-inch incision (at most) hidden in the natural fold under your chin.

Neck Lift FAQs

Turn Back the Hands of Time – Over the Weekend!

Imagine receiving the benefits of a lower facelift with only a few tiny incisions and being back to work in just a few days. Now this is possible with a remarkable procedure that Dr. Clevens himself has helped to pioneer called the Laser Assisted Weekend Neck Lift. This technique has been featured on ABC’s 20/20 and NBC’s Dateline. Performed under local anesthesia, it is being heralded as the future of cosmetic surgery for the new millennium. The procedure is becoming known as a safe and fast alternative to the traditional facelift while providing a natural, non-surgical appearance. Dr. Clevens has presented his extensive experience with this innovative procedure to his colleagues at numerous plastic surgery meetings throughout the country over the past several years.

Why is it called the Weekend Neck Lift?

Our patients started calling it this name because they felt that they could easily recover from this procedure over the weekend and return to their normal activities the next week. Although there are still small sutures in front of the ear, these can easily be hidden with the hair and any bruising has been so minimal in most cases it has not been a problem to hide.

Am I a good candidate for this procedure?

There are many people today showing the signs of aging that aren’t candidates for the “full facelift”. In most cases The Weekend Facelift is an ideal solution for the 40-55 year old with early sagging of the upper neck and jowl area. Your personal consultation with Dr. Clevens is the best method of determining if the Weekend Neck Lift is suitable for you.

How is the Laser Assisted Weekend Neck Lift Performed?

The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia with sedation. A small, hidden incision is created in the natural fold under the chin. Then, instead of using a scalpel, the Dr. Clevens uses a laser, liposuction, and sometimes a chin implant to improve the appearance of a sagging face, jowls, and neck.

Is there much discomfort with the procedure?

Unlike conventional facelift surgery, the result of the newer technique is “a natural … appearance with minimal discomfort.”

How soon can I return to work and play?

After a short recovery of several days, the patient can return to normal activity and the only evidence that the procedure has been performed is a dramatically improved appearance and a one-inch incision hidden in the natural fold under the chin. It is generally recommended that patients “take it easy” for a week after the procedure. Many patients say they feel nearly normal that afternoon, however, by the next morning they experience some discomfort.

How long does a Weekend Neck Lift last?

The duration of results after these surgeries varies from patient to patient. After the excess or redundant tissues are removed, they never return. Excess tissue seen after surgery is due to the fact that the natural aging process has continued. Remember, we cannot stop the aging process with any surgical or non-surgical methods. Factors like heredity, lifestyle, sun exposure and general health all contribute to the progression of aging. As far as the contour of the neckline is concerned, in the experienced hands of Dr. Clevens, the Weekend Neck Lift lasts as long as a conventional facelift.

Will I know what I will look like after surgery?

In your consultation, we will explain to you what you can expect to see. We encourage you to be honest and forthcoming in your desired results so your results will be as expected. Dr. Clevens and his staff will perform a facial analysis and will inform you of the expected benefits of surgery. Often, computerized preview imaging or video imaging may help to illustrate your possible expected result after your procedure. Nonetheless, no doctor can show you exactly what you will look like after your procedure.

How do I ensure a successful surgery?

A successful surgery depends on who performs the procedures and the quality of patient care both before and after your procedure.

Find an educated, experienced doctor who specializes on just faces . Dr. Clevens performs only facial procedures. As such, all our time and resources are dedicated to this specialty. Ask where your procedure will be performed. Dr. Clevens only operate in an accredited surgical facility or at a hospital.
