Education and Training
Dr. Matthesen earned her medical degree from UCLA, followed by a surgical internship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She then completed her residency at the University of Michigan, where she served as Chief Resident and trained extensively in advanced surgical procedures.
She went on to practice as a breast and general surgeon with Kaiser Permanente, where she developed a strong foundation in breast anatomy, surgical technique, and patient management. She later completed a dedicated cosmetic surgery fellowship to further refine her aesthetic specialization.
She is triple board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery, demonstrating advanced training in both general and aesthetic surgery.
