When you are looking for a solution to reduce the fine lines and wrinkles in your face and are considering Botox in Melbourne, Florida you should most certainly know what to expect from this procedure.

Generally, you should not experience swelling after Botox injections; however, some first time users do experience swelling in their eyes or other parts of the face. If this is the case for you, swelling should subside within 2 weeks following your injections. It is very important to contact our office to let us know your symptoms. In some cases, we may be able to prescribe anti-inflammatory agents or eye drops to help the problem. You may also find relief with a cold compress.

But don’t panic if you see signs of swelling because it is usually not an allergic reaction to Botox around the eyelids. It can be from sagging of the eyebrows which pushes more skin down around the upper eyelid area or if Botox is injected in the lower eyelids to minimize bulkiness, the pump action may slow down and fluid retention can occur, especially in those individuals who are prone to puffiness.

Our office performs Botox injections that last about 3 to 6 months, but typically take about 3 to 5 days to show their effects. If you are considering cosmetic surgery in Central Florida, call our office at 321.727.3223 to schedule an appointment. We would love to meet with you and discuss the best treatment options available to you.
